Government Announces Pay Hike for Employees and Pensioners

  • Salary Boost: Central government employees and pensioners received a pay raise effective from January 1st, 2024.
  • Dearness Allowance Increase: The key factor is a 4% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA), bringing it to 50% of basic salary.
  • Increased Take-Home Pay: This DA rise translates to a significant increase in the overall take-home pay for government employees.
  • Linked Allowances Upward: House Rent Allowance (HRA) and other allowances linked to DA will also see a revision, further boosting salaries.
